Armor

Adaptive Weave

A flexible canvas-fabric-like armor made of nanofibers, adaptive weave adjusts on impact to the type of damage being dealt. Adaptive Weave is a technically superior lightweight generalist armor, although other options are heavier or better against specific types of damage.

Assault Armor

This heavy-duty gear offers multiple layers of protection, with titanium plating, a beam-scattering armor coating, and shock-absorbing ultratech plastic padding, all to provide military-grade protection against a variety of weapons. The heavier version offers even more protection, at the cost of even greater bulk, requiring exosuit-like powered systems to even be able to move inside it.

Bulletproof Vest

A standard kevlar bulletproof vest, offering more protection against firearms than other types of damage. Commonly used by Antiskill.

Riot Gear

More substantial bullet-resistant armor, with better whole-body protection and helmet, used by Antiskill for more serious situations.

Riot Shield

A transparent heavy plastic riot shield, commonly used by Antiskill for defence on top of the usual bulletproof vest or riot gear.

Weaponry

Most Antiskill heavy weaponry is ID-tagged and unlocks only to the officer-of-use’s fingerprint, although there are specialists in Mirai city that can disable this. Although they do their best to prevent it, hijacked Antiskill weapons are the number-one source of guns in Mirai City. The other source, of course, is homemade weaponry. Though specialized equipment like a plasma rifle might be hard to make as an individual, the metals and tooling (and 3D printing/CNC access) are quite accessible if someone wants to custom-build their own illegal gun.

More experimental weaponry has a higher chance of malfunction during operation.

AT-15

A medium calibre rifle, with moderate recoil but not too heavy and intended to be most useful against human opponents. Standard issue for Antiskill, though it’s a little heavier calibre than a standard issue soldier from another country’s military.

AT-19

A medium-heavy calibre rifle, able to take down large animals with a well placed shot and quite destructive. Not longer, but more robust-looking than the AT-15.

AD-20 Drone Defender

A light-gauge shotgun created with flying drone takedown specifically in mind, operating at much longer ranges than typical shotguns with specially shaped shot.

Cryoblaster

This experimental device projects a slicing beam of near-zero Kelvin degree liquid that freezes on contact with air, along with almost anything it touches.

Electrolaser

Technically a type of laser rifle. The beam from it is low-power and nonlethal, but allows a charge of electricity to pass down the ionized pathway, delivering a taser-like jolt without being close to the target.

FV-30

Standard issue semi-automatic handgun for Antiskill use, very similar in styling to a Glock 17.

Justifier

A stubby gun chambered in .45 ACP, it’s the most frequently found gun of illegal manufacturing origins, with most parts 3D printed in some illicit facility. Due to its origins, slightly more likely to malfunction, but more than good enough for Skillout thugs.

KWBF-Cannon Type V

With an energetic output high enough to break molecular bonds in whatever it touches, this disintigrator cannon is a truly devastating force. However, creating that much energy that quickly, and dealing with the energetic blowback (similar to recoil) requires it to be attached to a much larger capacity base.

Laser Weapons

Coming in various sizes and strength of laser, these weapons are useful against bulletproof armor, but easily diverted by reflective surfaces. For this reason, they are more of a curiosity or special use weapon rather than typical for any common loadout.

Monofilament blades

Monofilament blades have an edge composed of a single string of atoms, able to cleanly slice through almost any material. For obvious reasons, these are quite experimental and restricted.

MSP-S12

A heavy-gauge shotgun used by Antiskill. A little more technically advanced, the choke can be set with the press of a button to allow a wide or narrow spray of shot, or a single heavy slug. Extreme damage at short range.

Neural Disruptor

Rather than a full-body approach like tasers, the neural disruptor is a short-range devices that targets and short-circuits brain activity and causing the target to have trouble maintaining psi abilities, and usually pass out.

Orbital Laser

Mirai City is known to have spy satellites and orbital scanners pointed at not just others, but mainly itself. Access condes to such things is of course highly restricted, but in a position of power... or just with some incredibly good hacking... maybe you’ve got a little access. Of course this will create a huge commotion, as the laser strike will be visible to the entire city, and the charge time is significant, so beware.

Particle Beam Weapons

These fire a beam of highly energized neutrons. These particles, moving at close to the speed of light, have an absolutely devastating impact on anything in their path. However, they lose energy quickly – the maximum range given is an absolute maximum, and can not be extended by taking penalties, as with many other weapons.

Pip-22

A small calibre rifle. More useful for taking out small animals or flimsier consumer-grade robots, but could be lethal to a person with an exceptionally well-placed shot.

Plasma Flamer

More technologically advanced than a simple flamethrower, a plasma flamer is a hefty short-range handheld device that can project a stream of blue-white plasma, lighting almost any substance on fire.

Railgun

A railgun fires metal objects through Lorentz’ Focre (?) using a pair of charge rails. When energy weapons just aren’t up to the job, a heavy railgun can be a bunker-buster with heavy penetrating projectiles.

Sonic Stunner

Yet another tool in Antiskill’s nonlethal arsenal, it uses similar technology to sonic-based psi-jammers to create a sound that incapacitates those who hear it. Prolonged sonic interference can include loss of consciousness.
